Tom Misch has grown in a music lover family. At four years old he learned how to play the violin, shortly after 9 he would chase Nirvana on the guitar and the teenage years brought him the Hip Hop sounds and the love for beats occupied his days. Signing in to soundcloud gave the still teenager Tom a fan base on the internet. “Apparently I have a sound and people can listen to it…” This is how Tom Misch describes his music and its success on social media, where he’s followed by millions of fans. It is not easy to describe a sonority that sounds like so many things at the same time; we can hear Jazz and Hip Hop, passing through dance music, under a funcky and bright atmosphere. The influences go from Robert Glasper and Roy Hargrove to Kaytranada or Motor City Drum Ensemble. In his debut album, “Geography”, what matters most to Tom is to keep challenging himself while people dance in front of him. The singles “Water Baby” (feat. Loyle Carner) and “Movie” promise to keep the audience stuck to his performance at Super Bock Super Rock.
