It’s not possible to write about the best Brazilian music over the last ten years without mentioning SILVA. Having released his EP Silva in 2011, the Vitória-born Brazilian artist has become one of the best-loved by audiences, critics and fellow musicians, as per his collaborations with Tom Zé, Gal Costa, Nelson Motta and many others. Following an impressive debut album (Claridão, 2012) and showing an extraordinary creative fire, SILVA kept them coming, releasing two more albums in quick succession. Vista Pro Mar (2014) and Jupiter (2015) captivated a wider audience with their jolly combination of electronic elements and popular Brazilian music influences. In 2016, he released Silva Canta Marisa Monte, an album expressing his love for Brazilian popular music artist Marisa Monte, where he delivered a new take on some of the singer’s greatest hits. Brasileiro, his next album, would come two years later and is probably his most political. Recorded and released during a turbulent time in his country, he proposed a new Brazil without neglecting the musical value of each song, as proof of his musical craftmanship.  Cinco saw the light at the end of 2020. Featuring collaborations with Anitta, João Donato and Criolo, SILVA brought a memorable collection of songs to his audience in an album that would mark the start of a new cycle in both his life and his career. In recent months he has worked on O Bloco do Silva, a live experience where the artist picks songs in a journey through his emotional memories, resulting in a warm embrace for the audience after the recent sombre times. Having recorded an album called Ao Vivo em Lisboa, SILVA obviously feels at home in Portugal and audiences there are grateful for it. A new chance to enjoy this inescapable voice of music in Portuguese comes on 15th July at Super Bock Super Rock’s EDP stage.
