Pop Dell’Arte are a musical adventure created by João Peste and Zé Pedro Moura (with Ondina Pires and Paulo Salgado) in 1985 and winner of the originality award of the 2nd Modern Music Contest of Rock Rendez Vous on that same year. Always defending transgression as a fundamental artistic value as well as the need of love for
contradictions, Pop Dell’Arte have recorded albums throughout the last three decades, highlighting “Free Pop” (1987), “Sex Symbol” (1995) or “Contra Mundum” (2010) and they’ve played in the most importante stages in Lisbon and Oporto as well as in other cities like Coimbra, Braga, Aveiro, Faro, Vigo, London and Barcelona, among others.
In 2018, Pop Dell’Arte made a comeback and released a new album with drummer Ricardo Martins and guitarist Paulo Monteiro (on the project since 1994) in addition to João Peste and Zé Pedro Moura. “Transgression Global” initiates a new phase in the life of one of the most surprising bands ever in the Portuguese music scene.
