Someone wrote the following in the YouTube comment box: “This band would provide the ideal soundtrack to a Quentin Tarantino version of Sex and the City.” Which is quite a plausible description of Los Bitchos, one of the most promising bands at present. They have been busy recording their debut album with the invaluable help from Franz Ferdinand’s frontman, Alex Kapranos. This work sounds like the biggest party imaginable, as is to be expected if you know Los Bitchos. Due to be released in February 2022, it’s aptly entitled Let the Festivities Begin. The tracks go straight to the point even if they are exclusively instrumental. They are bright, energetic, moving between the risky and the familiar, almost always fun and showing identifiable references to a watchful audience, both on a musical and a visual level. It seems impossible not to be tempted to a few dance moves when you first hear Los Bitchos – and thereafter too! Songs like “Good To Go” and “Las Panteras” deliver on all the promises and will surely be enjoyed in Portugal in 2022, on the EDP stage at Super Bock Super Rock.
