The name Claptone comes from a mythical creature, and it inspires music that transports us to medieval landscapes and seduces with its musical shamanism, a power that has captivated listeners around the world. In 2012, the catchy track “Cream” showcased the mysterious project’s talent as an introduction for some of the best electronic music created over the last decade. Later, the hit single “No Eyes”, released in 2013, as well as some other songs acclaimed by both critics and audiences would be included in Claptone’s debut album, Charmer. This album involved collaborations by names such as Peter Bjorn and John, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Jimi Tenor and Young Galaxy. Apart from their original songs, Claptone also became known for their remixes of Gregory Porter, Disclosure, Faithless, Róisín Murphy, to name a few. With the following albums, The Masquerade (2016) and Fantast (2018), Claptone demonstrated a flair to combine deep house and independent dance music like few others. Closer, released in 2021, appeared as yet another celebration of their musically-expressed emotion, which they’ll share with the Portuguese audience on 16th July on the Somersby stage.
