Baxter Dury is the son of a big rock name, the legend Ian Dury. Young Baxter tried to resist, but the music calling was stronger and he ended up following his father steps. Was around the time his father passed away that Baxter started to take music in a more serious manner, and it didn’t take long until releasing “Len Parrot’s Memorial Lift”, a debut piece that reveals his interest for experimentation, defying conventions and dialoging with the psicadelic rock tradition.
Since then, 5 albuns gone by, where the singularity of his sound defines the eclectic songs. In the same record, and in a short time span, Baxter manages to be funny, distressed and emotional, sounding real all the time. With a cinematographic approach to his own music each record is a journey in itself – with inspirations from Serge Gainsbourg to nouvelle vague cinema.
The last of those stories told by Baxter Dury is “Prince of Tears” and you’ll be able to witness it at the 24 th Super Bock Super Rock.
